Sustainability & Social Impact

At Still.Life Atelier, it is important to us that we not only produce quality artworks that will last and be appreciated for years to come, but that we do so in a responsible and sustainable manner. From materials and packaging, to giving back to the community, we believe it is our responsibility to minimise our impact on the planet and make it a better place, for all. Every little bit counts.

We are constantly looking to learn and improve, so if you have insights or suggestions on how we can further improve our processes, email us at info@antipodeanstill.life - we would love to hear from you.

Made-to-Order, Just for You

All our artworks are made-to-order, produced to your chosen specifications only when we receive your order.

In doing so, we significantly reduce the amount of waste and excess use of materials and energy that typically comes with mass-produced prints and resulting unsold inventory.

Sustainable Fine Art Printing

While it is not currently possible to create high-quality art prints on recycled paper, it is worth remembering that our artworks are intended to be long-term adornments - if cared for properly, they will last a lifetime.

We offer a range of Fine Art Prints on a cotton rag paper, one of the most environmentally-friendly fine art paper options available. The paper is made primarily from cotton liners or cloth offcuts, materials that would otherwise have been destined for landfill. Additionally, cotton rag papers can handle a greater variety of environmental conditions and will outlast wood-based paper.

Our printing and framing manufacturer utilises Epson water-based pigment printers for their high-quality, repeatable and colour-stable prints - minimising wastage that may come with the inconsistency and unpredictability of lower-grade consumable printheads.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Our printing and framing partner manufactures their own packaging on-demand using recyclable and non-bleached materials, minimising storage and wastage that may stem from mass-manufactured, ready-made packaging. The packaging is also designed to reduce transport damage - further minimising wastage and preserving resources.

When you receive your artwork, we encourage you to recycle your shipping boxes and protective tissue paper (observing the usual rules applicable to recycling in your location), or repurpose them for your own uses!

Giving Back

We donate 5% of online sales monthly to humanitarian and human rights organisations and causes.

Our donations support the work of organisations in conflict, crises and emergency situations, and contribute to long-term change in areas like provision of education, aid and agricultural development.
